Traditional games in Brittany have a history, or rather a number of histories. Guingamp has its own history, honoured by Marcel Hinault at the Musée de la Boule Bretonne (Breton Bowls Museum) at the Tourist Office. In Guingamp, they play Breton Boules. Weighing 640 grams to 1 kilo and 92 millimetres in diameter, the plastic 'boules' are manufactured in Italy. On Wednesday afternoons, Hyacinthe Richard and Job Guéguen get together with young people at the club, which has a broad membership (from 6 to 87 years old). The Breton Boule alley is a sand surface 16-18 metres long, varying from one region to another (western parts of the Côtes d'Armor, and Morbihan). Six schools and 18 clubs are represented on the Department Committee.
